Mr. Vick is an honors graduate from the University of Montana where he received his Bachelor’s Degree in History. Prior to attending law school, he attended graduate school in public administration at the University of Montana. He received his Doctor of Jurisprudence Degree (cum laude) from the University of Puget Sound School of Law.
Mr. Vick has been involved in personnel administration and labor relations since 1978, practicing on both the management and labor sides of the table. As a personnel professional for both the State of Montana and City of Seattle, he became a qualified expert regarding classification matters and compensation issues. As a union advocate, he represented over 2,000 City of Seattle employees in a variety of matters, in contract negotiations, contract administration, and proceedings before the Public Employment Relations Commission. Mr. Vick’s practice has been restricted to Public Safety Labor Law for a number of years.
Mr. Vick has served as general counsel to many of the major police guilds/associations in Washington and has extensive experience in police law matters including the representation of officers in Coroner’s Inquests and other use of force matters.
In January 2016, Mr. Vick retired from the practice of law but continues to be a labor consultant to the Firm and continues to do projects for Vick, Julius McClure, P.S.
Mr. Aitchison is a labor consultant for Vick, Julius, McClure. Mr. Aitchison was a founding member of the firm Aitchison & Vick. He retired from the firm in 2010. Mr. Aitchison continues to provide consultations to our clients.
Mr. Aitchison focused on public safety labor law for many years. He has authored numerous books, including: The Rights of Law Enforcement Officers, The Fair Labor Standards Act – A User’s Manual, Interest Arbitration, The Rights of Firefighters, Model Law Enforcement Contract and Model Firefighter’s Contract.
Mr. Aitchison conducted and continues to conduct seminars throughout the country (attended by thousands of law enforcement officers) on topics such as rights of police officers, the Fair Labor Standards Act, collective bargaining, binding interest arbitration and fact finding, internal affairs investigations, use of force issues, and various other labor relations matters.
Mr. Julius received his Bachelor’s Degree with honors from the University of Toledo. He attended University of Toledo School of Law where he received his Doctor of Jurisprudence Degree.
After graduating law school, Mr. Julius became an associate attorney with the Law Offices of Gallon, Kalniz & Iorio where he later became a partner. Mr. Julius remained with his Ohio firm until 1998 when he moved to Washington State. During his 20 years of practice in Ohio, Mr. Julius represented labor organizations and jointly administered Taft-Hartley funds exclusively.
After moving to Washington in 1998, Jeff worked for the Washington State Bar Association as a Disciplinary Counsel and the City of Seattle as an employment attorney. Mr. Julius has given presentations at many local, regional, and national conferences and seminars. In November of 2000, Jeff joined the Firm in the Washington office and in 2001 became a partner in the Firm. Mr. Julius retired from the firm, and the practice of law at the end of 2018. Mr. Julius remains a valued consultant to the firm.
